The Blue House

I had a chance to babysit my niece's 5 cats up up in Lake Arrowhead. I took my watercolors instead of oils. It's been a while since I touched watercolor. Very curious about how it gonna translate recent ideas into watercolors, been working with oils so quite uncertain about transition. While start working this piece, immediately felt something wasn't right. First I could't get colors the way I wanted to, value changed like the weather in the mountains after paints were dried. Make the story short I was pulling my hair out. Waite a minute, I realized that I had to think in terms of watercolor, forgot all about the nature of watercolor. You can't control not much, then my subconscious whispered to me ....Just let watercolor paint for you. After that I enjoyed making shapes and transparency according to my intuition.
